The one-line verdict
Pick Wati if you want a public price today and a plan you can start on a card without a call. Pick bananaleaf.ai if you want the AI agent, the pipeline and bookings set up together on the number your customers already message.
Side by side
| What you get | bananaleaf.ai | Wati |
|---|---|---|
| Public plan prices | No public price; the plan is set per organisation after a call | Growth $59/month and Pro $119/month, billed annually; Business is custom. The page shows a dollar sign and does not name the currency[1] |
| Users included | Set per plan | Growth 3, Pro 5 (extra users $39 each), Business 5 (extra users $89 each)[1] |
| AI agent | Included in the Agent plan: answers from your documents and price sheet, qualifies, books, follows up | Astra AI agents: not included on Growth; a separately priced add-on on Pro[1] |
| Meta message charges | Meta's message charges billed at cost plus a stated markup, prepaid | Additional charges apply for messages, based on Wati's own rate card; no markup stated on the page[1] |
| CRM / pipeline | Pipeline with stages you define; the deal record and stage are written from the chat | Built-in WhatsApp CRM with a visual sales pipeline[3] |
| Click-to-WhatsApp ads | Records the ad each lead came from; sends stage changes back to Meta as conversion events | Click-to-WhatsApp ad flows via chatbots; attribution not described on the pages opened[3] |
| Appointment booking | Built-in calendar the assistant books into | Not mentioned in the platform overview[3] |
| Chatbots | Button trees for welcome menus; the assistant answers everything else from approved knowledge | No-code chatbot builder[3] |
"Not listed" means Wati's page did not say, not that the product lacks it. Meta's own message charges apply on both, and since 1 October 2026 Meta also charges for service messages after 1,000 free ones per number each month.[4]
Where bananaleaf.ai pulls ahead
- The AI agent is the product, not an add-on: it answers from your price sheet, books the appointment and writes the deal record.
- Bookings are native. A clinic or villa gets a calendar the assistant books into, with no third-party tool.
- Click-to-WhatsApp leads carry their ad, and stage changes go back to Meta so the ads learn which clicks became customers.
When Wati is the better pick
- You want a public price today and a plan you can start on a card without a call.
- Your stack already runs on Salesforce, HubSpot or Shopify and you need the integration list first.
- You run broadcasts at scale and a shared inbox is the main job; the AI is a later add-on.
Switching from Wati
- Your WhatsApp number comes with you: Meta allows a number to move between providers, and we handle the migration with you.
- Contacts arrive by CSV export from Wati and import here; duplicates merge by phone.
- Approved templates are re-submitted under your number here; Meta approves most utility templates within a day.
- Keep the WhatsApp Business app on the same number if you use it; we run alongside it.
Questions people ask
Is bananaleaf.ai cheaper than Wati?
We cannot say from public pages. Wati publishes plan prices; bananaleaf.ai sets its plan per organisation after a call. Ask both for one monthly total that includes users, the AI agent and your expected message volume.
Does Wati charge extra for WhatsApp messages?
Yes. Wati's pricing page says additional charges apply for messages, based on its own rate card, and does not state a markup on that page.
Can I use Wati's AI agent on the cheapest plan?
Not according to Wati's pricing page: the Growth plan does not include Astra AI agents, and on Pro they are a separately priced add-on.
Which is better for a clinic that wants appointments booked on WhatsApp?
bananaleaf.ai has a built-in booking calendar the assistant books into. Wati's platform overview does not mention bookings, so ask Wati how they handle it before you decide.
Do I lose my number if I switch?
No. Meta allows a WhatsApp Business number to move between providers. Your chats on the old platform do not move, so export what you need first.
