How Meta charges
Four rules decide your bill
Per message, by country
Every delivered message is charged by its type and the country of the person receiving it.
1,000 free replies
Each business number gets 1,000 free replies a month. After that, replies are charged too (since 1 October 2026).
Volume discounts
Utility messages and login codes get cheaper once you send a lot of them to one country in a month.
Free after an ad tap
Reply within 24 hours to someone who messaged you from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad, and messages are free for up to 7 days.

WhatsApp pricing questions
How much does a WhatsApp business message cost in India?
On Meta's rate card effective 1 October 2026, a message to an Indian number costs ₹0.8631 for marketing, ₹0.1150 for utility, ₹0.1150 for a login code and ₹0.1150 for a reply after the free ones. Prices are per delivered message, before taxes and any provider's fee.
Are replies to customers free?
Partly. Since 1 October 2026 Meta gives each business phone number 1,000 free replies (service messages) a month. From the 1,001st reply in a month, each one is charged at the service rate for the customer's country.
Why does the price change with the customer's country?
Meta prices each message by the country code of the person receiving it, not by where your business is. A marketing message to Germany costs many times more than the same message to India.
What are volume tiers?
For utility messages and login codes, Meta lowers the rate once you send a large number in a month to one country. Only the messages past each tier's start get the lower rate. The calculator applies them for you.
Are messages to people who tap my Click-to-WhatsApp ad free?
Meta's pricing page says that when a customer messages you from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad on the WhatsApp phone app and you reply within 24 hours, a free window opens for up to 7 days. Marketing, utility, login and service messages inside it are not charged. This calculator does not subtract those, so ad-heavy businesses will pay less than shown.
Does this include GST or a provider's fee?
No. It shows Meta's own price before taxes. WhatsApp API providers, including bananaleaf.ai, add their own fee on top. Ask any provider for the rupee price of one marketing and one utility message to compare them fairly.
